Race Day | All You Need To Know

We can’t wait to welcome you to the first aQuelle Midmar Mile Seeding Swim of the season at Munyaka Waterfall City on Sunday 12 October. Please read through the information below to ensure you are fully prepared for your swim.

Parking:            Access to Munyaka will be through Gate 2 (see map)

Spectator Fee (Payable at the Entrance): Adults R100 | Children (16yr/under) R50

Late Entries:      Event 4 (only) | R300 | Payable by Card or Cash.

                            Note that no Late Entries will be taken for Events 1-3.

No cooler boxes, no glass and no alcohol to be brought into the Lagoon

No Food will be on sale

No smoking (of any kind)

No animals to be brought in (even on a lead)

Registration:  Arrive no more than 1 hour before your Race Start Time. Priority is given to those registering in the next event.

                        Race Packs contain 2 timing chips (one for each wrist).

Pre-ordered Glodina 2025 Midmar Mile towels can be collected here. We do have extras for sale for R300.

Bag Drop:      We can look after bags at Registration – you will need to write your Body Marking number on a label that we will attach.

Body Marking:  Your Body Marking number will be written clearly on your upper arms before you move to the start line.

Swim Caps:   Please bring your own for ALL events. Numbered Swim Caps will ONLY be provided to swimmers registered with Swimming South Africa in Events 1 & 2.

Race Start:     A full verbal race briefing will be given.

Wet Suits:      These may be worn but will mean you forfeit any position or prize within your age group/race category.

 

Event Safety:  SA Rescue Intelligence lifeguard team will be on the water at all times during all 4 Events. 

Emer G Med will be in place from 06h30 until the completion of Event 4.

Swim Safe Devices are available for use in all events.

 

Race Timing:   All events are timed by FinishTime and results can be seen live here: Munyaka Open Water Swim Series       

Finish:              All finishers will receive a Finishers Medal and one bottle of aQuelle refreshment.

                          1.5km | Top 3 Male & Female (various age groups)

                          500m | Top 3 Male & Female
