Directions Whether you are coming from Pietermaritzburg or from Durban, directions will take you to the R56. From the junction with the R103 (where Tekwani Sawmills are) our signboards will direct you to the right turn about 4.5km further on just before Baynesfield Church (note that the previously used right turn opposite Mo's Livestock is closed)
On turning right where our signage directs you, follow further signage towards Baynesfield Big Dam.
(Typing in Baynesfield Dam into Google Maps will take you along the correct route). 
Parking at the Venue Safe Secure Parking close to Event area
Gate Entrance Fee at the Venue R50 per person per day unless you are an official or helper at the event - the gate staff will have that list - Payment with CARD (bring cash just in case of bad signal)

Payment Late Entries can be paid for by CASH or CREDIT CARD
Registration Times Arrive no more than 1 hour before your Event Start Time
Priority in the queue will be given to the next event in the line-up
Registration Venue Marked Registration Area on way to waters edge
Registration Procedure Race Packs for Events 1 & 2 contain:
Two timing chips each on a strip of velcro to be attached one around each wrist
Barcoded tag to be attached inside your swimming costume

Race packs for Events 3-6 contain:
One timing chip on a strip of velcro to be attached to your right ankle
Barcoded tag to be attached inside your swimming costume

Race Packs are handed to you at Registration BEFORE EACH SWIM
If you are swimming more than one event, you will retain your first Race Number but be allocated a new Timing Chip.
Race Number Marking You will have your race number marked on both arms in a vertical pattern, by our team. This is for water safety and timing purposes. You will not be able to enter the water unless your race number is clearly visable
IMPORTANT: YOUR RACE NUMBER IS THE NUMBER ON YOUR RACE PACK AND YOUR BARCODE
YOUR TIMING CHIP IS LABELLED WITH A CODE - THIS IS NOT YOUR RACE NUMBER
THOSE SWIMMING MORE THAN ONE EVENT WILL RETAIN FIRST RACE NUMBER BUT ALLOCATED A NEW CHIP FOR EACH SWIM
Food & Drinks We hope to have a selection of vendors at the event serving drinks and snacks.
Race Briefing You will be verbally briefed at the start line before you begin your swim
Wet Suits Can be worn if required. Wearing of a wetsuit for your event will mean you forfeit any position or prize within your age group/race category
Timing The events are all timed by FINISHTIME and live results will be available via https://midmarmile.com/pages/seeding-events

Swimmers taking part in the 10km (& 7.5km & 5km) and 3km events will be loaned 2 timing chips
Swimmers in all other events will be loaned 1 timing chip
Timing chips are handed out at Registration and are to be handed back at the finish
Lost or stolen chips will be charged to the swimmer at R250 per chip at the discretion of the race organisers
Water Safety Lifeguards are on the water at all times during all 6 events
Should any water safety personel deem it necessary that a swimmer must be taken out of the water, they will do so and bring them back to the finish
Swim Safe Devices We will have these available to pick up on the way into the water for any swimmer who would like to borrow and it must be handed back at the finish
Swim Safe Devices are ADVISORY for all swimmers in the 600m Fun Swim event at 12h00
Swim Caps Swimmers in Event 1 | 10km - Event 2 | 3km will be loaned a swim cap with their Race Number printed on and are required to wear it for the entire event. This is to be handed back in with your timing chips at the finish - even if you are swimming an additional event on Sunday.
Swimmers in all other events may wear their own cap but are asked to make it as bright as possible
Bag Drop/Pick Up We will have a desk in the Registration Tent for bag drop and pick up for those who need to use the service
You will be able to complete a label and tie to your bag and collect at the end of your swim
This is a free of charge service
What to Pack Pack everything you will need to complete a successful swim!
Remember to look at the weather predictions and ensure you have suitable clothing for afterwards
At the Finish Each finisher will receive one bottle of aQuelle water or aQuelle Viv and a finishers medal
Prizegiving We will hold a Prizegiving after each event
