aQuellé awarded the Energy Storage Project of the Year at ENLIT Africa 2025
aQuellé principle sponsor of South Africa’s and the Worlds biggest Open Water Swim displayed their commitment to serving the community once again by winning this award.
ENLIT Africa brings together key industry leaders to tackle Africa's energy and water challenges. aQuellé’s solar project, including a substantial battery installation of 11.6MWh, was nominated by Standard Bank, the platinum sponsors of the event. Kuben Govender from Standard Bank (pictured above with Ruth Combrink and Nico Bosman) also received the Renewable Energy Award in honour of the bank’s values and being a game changer in the sector.
aQuellé’s solar installation covers 28 000m² and generates up to 6.2MWh, which is enough electricity to power approximately 1 100 average households in South Africa. At our newest bottling facility, the solar installation saves 131 tons of CO2 emissions per month, equivalent to planting 3 803 trees.
The award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of an incredible team who have made the project possible.
We are humbled by this honour and remain committed to serving our communities with integrity.
